SCMRP: Secure cluster based multipath routing protocol for wireless sensor networks

Abstract: Abstract-WSNs are multihop networks, which depend on the intermediate nodes to relay the data packet to the destination. These nodes are equipped with lesser memory, limited battery power, little computation capability, small range of communication and need a secured and efficient routing path to forward the incoming packet. In this paper, we propose a secure cluster based multipath routing protocol (SCMRP). Researchers have proposed clustered sensor networks to increase the efficiency (i.e. increase system th… Show more

“…Since the routing tables of sensor nodes are computed in sink nodes, the computation cost to distribute the routing tables is increased, especially in large-scale sensor networks. Moreover, the use of a global key for secure neighbor detection affects the whole network performance once the global key is compromised (Kumar and Jena, 2010).…”

“…Secure cluster based multipath routing protocol proposed a proactive, hierarchical multipath secure routing protocol. It implements the security of routing by pairwise key distribution [26]. G. SM et al proposed a secure energyefficient node-disjoint multipath routing protocol, which transmits the data packets in a secure manner by using the MD5 hash function and RSA algorithm [28].…”
