“…They are more difficult to resect en bloc [3 && ]. Sclerosants used include doxycycline, bleomycin [46], alcohol [47] and OK-432 [25 && ,48,49]. In-utero sclerosing of a lymphatic malformation has been suggested [50] but is not commonly practiced.…”

“…OK-432 causes inflammation of the cyst wall and stimulates the immunocyte secretion of a variety of cytokines, including interleukin-6, tumor-necrosis factor, and interferon gamma, which increases the permeability of the endothelium and induces the apoptosis of the lymphatic endothelium, facilitating the excretion of the lesion into the lymphatic vessels and resulting in a contraction of the cyst. The agent also promotes cyst contraction by activating natural killer cells and recruiting T-lymphocytes [1,3,8]. …”

“…The skin test for penicillin G allergy should be performed before OK-432 sclerotherapy [8]. OK-432 sclerotherapy may initially be associated with minor inflammatory responses such as swelling, erythema, pain, and mild fever for up to 5 days in many cases, and it is rarely associated with major side effects such as dyspnea and cellulitis [6].…”

“…80,81 Sclerotherapy is usually performed through ultrasound-guided puncture and fluoroscopic contrastographic control of the cyst, followed by endocytic injection of sclerosing agents. Literature 82 reports experiences of CT-guided and CT-controlled sclerotherapy. The choice of the sclerosing agent has been a main topic of research and testing in terms of the risk-to-benefit ratio.…”
