“…Many reports describe tamoxifen use with concurrent glucocorticoids and further work is needed to understand the contribution that immunosuppressive agents make when added to tamoxifen. The limited side-effect profile of tamoxifen with no inherent immunosuppression activity suggests that this agent can be used in immunocompromised patients and in those with chronic or acute infections such as HIV, hepatitis C, and recent peritonitis (25,27,28).…”

Tamoxifen treatment in EPS patients is associated with lower mortality and shows a trend to an increased multivariate-adjusted survival. This supports additional use of tamoxifen to treat patients with severe EPS.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
