The body of knowledge specifically concerning the complications in these patients following Caesarean section is limited to case reports of pulmonary oedema (Hoffman and Diamond, 1967) and renal failure attributed to malignant hypertension (Ehrenfeld et al, 1977). In neither report was the type of anaesthesia mentioned.…”
