“…Certain PNFs revealed high biocompatibility and did not promote tissue inflammation 1a. Further functionalities have been attached either to the peptide sequences before assembly or to the already formed fibers, including epitopes of extracellular matrix proteins such as laminin or fibronectin, polydopamine, glycosaminoglycans, or growth factors including BDNF . These biomimetic SAPs increased focal adhesion assembly, which is attractive for processes such as axonal regeneration .…”

“…There are many types of nerve injuries, and are usually accompanied by trauma around the tissues. [14][15][16] Therefore, a material that acts on the injured site to promote nerve repair and wound healing around needs to be found. In the existing solutions, we have focused on the use of nerve conduits to repair the nerve injury.…”

“…59 In this context, only a few reports on short IKVAV and YIGSR based peptides forming gels are available in the literature, in conjugation with an aliphatic chain, or polymeric network or additional amino acid sequences. [44][45][46][47] However, in combination to collagen inspired peptide, the pentapeptide sequences i.e. IKVAV (A) and YIGSR (B), derived from native laminin protein, were also synthesized with 2-nathoxyacetic-acid attached at their N-terminal (Fig.…”

“…44 However, a very few IKVAV and YIGSR based short laminin peptides were reported, showing classical role in controlling cell behavior. 44,45 A report by Nisbet et al, illustrated the minimalist Fmoc selfassembling peptide design using laminin derived IKVAV and YIGSR, along with bronectin based RGD peptide for delivering cortical neural progenitor cells in mouse brain. 46,47 In particular, the role of laminin peptides along with collagen IV has been widely studied for their nerve regeneration properties.…”
