Recently, Madrasa education development, especially in Islamic countries like Indonesia, has become a significant issue that needs the attention of academic and regulators alike. Therefore, the present research examines the impact of government support and human resource (HR) improvement on Madrasa education development in Indonesia. The researchers also investigate the moderating role of institutional policies among the nexus of government support, HR improvement and Madrasa education development in Indonesia. The researchers have followed the primary data collection approach using questionnaires for data collection from the selected respondents. The present article also uses the smart-PLS to evaluate the relations among variables and the validity of the constructs. The results indicate that government support and HR improvement have a positive association with Madrasa education development in Indonesia. The results also revealed that institutional policies significantly moderate among the nexus of government support, HR improvement and Madrasa education development in Indonesia. These outcomes are meaningful for the Madrasa developing and regulating authorities while formulating rules and regulations regarding Madrasa education development in the country. This study aimed to assess the current level of knowledge and impact of training among community pharmacists in Bangladesh regarding antibiotic resistance, and to explore the potential relationship between knowledge, training, and antibiotic dispensing practices. A cross-sectional study was conducted among community pharmacists practicing in Bangladesh, using a self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire assessed the respondents' demographic information, knowledge and attitude towards antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance, and practices towards improving appropriate antibiotic use in community pharmacies. The results of the study showed that the majority of community pharmacists in Bangladesh lacked knowledge and training regarding antibiotic resistance. Only 8.4% of the respondents had adequate knowledge of antibiotic resistance, and 38% had received training on the topic. Furthermore, a significant relationship was found between the level of knowledge and training received by community pharmacists and their antibiotic dispensing practices. Pharmacists with higher levels of knowledge and training were more likely to appropriately dispense antibiotics. The findings of this study highlight the need for increased education and training regarding antibiotic resistance among community pharmacists in Bangladesh. This is crucial for improving antibiotic dispensing practices and for reducing the spread of antibiotic resistance. Policymakers and educators should collaborate to develop and implement training programs and continuing education courses for community pharmacists to improve their knowledge and skills in this area.

PurposeThe study explores government primary school students' remote learning experience during school closures due to COVID-19.Design/methodology/approachA qualitative approach and semi-structured interviews were employed for data collection. The study used a snowball sampling procedure to select 24 participants.FindingsThis study shows that students experienced setbacks in learning due to not having access to resources. Besides, online classes were expensive as they were not able to buy devices, internet package and other resources to participate in the remote classes. Since many students were unable to access digital media and get parental and teacher support for education, students' engagement in learning was very low. Moreover, the paucity of learning due to school closures has lowered students' motivation for learning. The study also contributed to understanding children's emotional attachment with the schools and how the closure affected their well-being. The results indicate that the students, teachers and parents did not have a positive experience with remote teaching–learning and the modalities did not contribute to continuing with meaningful learning.Originality/valueThe remote learning experience shared in this study can be used to inform policymakers, educators and stakeholders exploring remote learning solutions in low-resource contexts. This study contributes to understanding the skills and competencies teachers require to support children's learning during any crisis.
