Schistosomiasis in returning travellers and migrants: gaps and research priorities

Dora Buonfrate,
Francesca Tamarozzi,
Federico Gobbi

Abstract: Highlights There are many knowledge gaps about schistosomiasis, including its physiopathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up. The largest disease burden is in low-middle income countries; however, studies carried out in non-endemic areas can be useful to collect relevant evidence aimed at improving schistosomiasis knowledge and management.
