Abstract:The Schiff base is a special type of imine derivative formed by the condensation between a primary aromatic amine and an aldehyde or ketone, but sometimes the condensation products from aliphatic amine and ketone or aldehyde are also referred to as the Schiff bases. The prepared Schiff bases have wide application and are found to catalyze the highly enantioselective and diastereoselective reaction. Furthermore, some Schiff bases show antituberculous activity.
