Scanning electron microscopic investigation of the domain structure of a sodium trihydroselenite crystal

Abstract: The domain structure of the electrically biaxial β‐phase of a ferroelectric NaH3(SeO3)2 crystal and its change with the applied electric field have been studied by means of scanning electron microscopy. The 180°‐domain structure corresponding to the model earlier proposed has been visualized for the first time. The supposed appearance of bound charges on non‐180°‐domain walls at 180°‐switching under the applied field not parallel to the bisectrix between the Ps‐axes is confirmed.
