Abstract:Acremolactone B is a pyridine‐containing azaphilone‐type polyketide with herbicidal activity. We developed an aza‐6π electrocyclization−aromatization strategy to construct the tetrasubstituted pyridine ring and achieved the first total synthesis of this molecule on a gram scale.
