Abstract:The space-division multiplexed (SDM) coherent transmission using a multi-core fiber (MCF) is a promising technology for further increasing the capacity of optical communications and interconnects. For broader application of SDM systems, dual-polarization (DP) coherent receivers that can be directly coupled to MCFs without bulky fan-in/fan-out (FIFO) devices and polarization beam splitters (PBSs) are desirable. Unlike intensity-modulation direct-detection (IMDD) receivers, however, scaling a DP coherent receive… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
