Scalable and Resilient Network Traffic Engineering Using Erlang-based Path Computation Element

Abstract: Scalability and resiliency are two significant requirements for upcoming beyond 5G networks. As network resource usage is expected to increase, scalability of the control plane handling the required amount of network resources is also necessary. Moreover, resiliency of cloudified control plane software mechanisms is also a requirement. This demonstration presents an Erlang-based Path Computation Element (PCE) able to perform traffic engineering for Segment Routing. Specific scalability and resiliency propertie… Show more

“…Further, PCE is highly appreciable to be deployed in scalable and resilient network traffic management. In[67], one such instance was reported with secure means of Erlang-based traffic engineering for SDN deployed for robust implications in 5G services with increased scalability of the control plane. The valuable inclusion of PCE further aids in providing the optimized path and assists in interacting with applications for making dynamic changes in SDN environments through PCE.VOLUME 10, 2022…”
