Workers face increasing demands and demands in the workplace, situations that exceed their ability to adapt, generating work stress and burnout syndrome. The objective of the study was to analyze the burnout syndrome in business workers in Peru, particularly work stress in different types of organization other than health and education, taking into account characteristics such as size, employment relationship, stress reached by workers and expectations. professionals. Job stress has been measured with the Maslach Burnout Inventory designed to detect professional burnout in a sample of 563 workers from the economically active population of Metropolitan Lima, Peru; people of both sexes and with more than six months of work in the same company. The results show that work stress is greater in workers in the commercial sector because they have more contact with people. They coincide with other studies carried out that affirm their existence to a greater or lesser degree in the workers of the organizations evaluated. In conclusion, the burnout syndrome exists in every organization and affects the worker's health and performance, as well as the economic interests of the organization that they consider evaluating.
