The understanding of host susceptibility, clinical features, variants risks, and asymptomatic infection complexity is challenging in making sustainable prognosis models. The objective of this article is to review the green chemistry, host-pathogen inter relations, new age technologies and suitable policies adaptation for control of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The disease prognosis models are evaluated for comprehensive disease management components using sustainable public health framework. Here, the demonstrator of policy roadmap, mathematical modeling for variants, sustainable framework of population testing protocols and prognosis healthcare models bearing green chemistry preventive measures are analyzed for COVID-19. Highlights• We review literature concerning host susceptibility, clinical features, variants risks, and asymptomatic infection complexity, which is challenging in making sustainable prognosis models of COVID-19. • We evaluated green chemistry, host-pathogen inter relations, new age technologies and suitable policies adaptation for control of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. • The construction of efficient roadmap from diagnosis to treatment for healthcare management.• The relevance of this research lies in addressing environment and socioeconomic components to make it sustainable public health management.

The history of coronavirus can be traced to the 1960s when B184 and 229E coronaviruses were discovered in the nasal washing of individuals with the common cold. There was no worry about such viruses until 2003 when the first major outbreak of SARS was discovered in southern China. The recent outbreak was in 2019 when a major outbreak of COVID-19 strain started in China. The World Health Organisation proclaimed COVID-19 as a pandemic in March 2020. Ever since this pandemic, several attempts to intervene in the spread has been tried, yet the pandemic is not dying. This persistence in the pandemic might be due to the presence of asymptomatic individuals. This unending pandemic has hit the Kenya economy badly. In this study, we mathematically investigate the effect of governmental and non-governmental intervention on the spread of COVID-19 in Kenya. To capture the effect of intervention effectively, the model considers the presence of asymptomatically infected individuals in the Kenya. The basic reproduction number is obtained using the next-generation matrix and the local stability of the equilibrium points are established. The effects of intervention on the spread of COVID-19 are simulated and illustrated as graphs. The results indicate that intervention in form awareness and public sensitisation reduces the Exposed class, Infected Classes and COVID-19-related death.

“…For instance, one of the key elements that contributed to the spread of the coronavirus around the world was international travel. A study from Kenya (Mbogo & Orwa, 2021) used a modified SEIR model to demonstrate the effects of disregarding safety guidelines on the dynamics of disease spread and control, with a focus on determining the impact of daily international travel and the split between infected and uninfected travelers. Another study (Kolebaje et al, 2022) supports the Kenya study by drawing the conclusion that the reproduction number-the number of secondary infections that can be produced from a single infectious individual in a completely susceptible population-can be kept below one ( 1 2021) concentrated on the use of the modified SEIR model to examine how behavioral changes in adopting preventative behaviour fluctuate as the population's number of new cases rises.…”

Like every other case of a pandemic that ever occurred, the COVID-19 pandemic has come with its lessons and implications to every aspect of life. In Asia, Europe and America, a considerable number of lives were claimed in the first two waves of the corona virus disease, while Africa, though predicted to suffer more loss, was relatively speared from enormous death rate. Nonetheless, the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed how much the African continent needs to prepare for future pandemics. Across the globe, several efforts were made towards identifying the epidemiology, controlling the spread, treating the infected, discovering and developing drugs or vaccines, as well as producing medical devices. In Africa, researchers were on their toes to maximize available resources and facilities to support government policies and ensure optimum safety of lives from the infectious disease. Therefore, this paper focuses on the more notable impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on sub-Saharan Africa, while simultaneously highlighting the efforts that were made by researches, the government, individuals and other policy makers in mitigating the negative effect on human lives.
