SARS-CoV-2 Infections in Italian Schools: Preliminary Findings After 1 Month of School Opening During the Second Wave of the Pandemic

Abstract: Introduction: The impact of school opening on the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic is still unknown. “…We randomly selected classes within participating schools, stratified by school level: lower school level (grades 1 and 2; children aged 6-9 years); middle school level (grades 4 and 5; children aged 9-13 years); and upper school level (grades 7 and 8; children aged 12-16 years).
