Abstract:BackgroundCreatinine‐based estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFRCRE) may overestimate kidney function in patients with sarcopenia. While cystatin C‐based eGFR (eGFRCYS) is less affected by muscle mass, it may underestimate kidney function in patients with obesity. We sought to evaluate the relationship between body composition defined by computed tomography (CT) scans and discordance between creatinine, eGFRCRE and eGFRCYS in adult patients with cancer.MethodsThis study is a cross‐sectional study of conse… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
