“…Different Salmonella serotypes were identified from 1-7 days old chicken (S. Enteritidis, S. Typhimurium, S. infantis, S. apeyeme and S. Bargny) and from birds of more than 7 days old (S. Enteritidis, S. Typhimurium, S. Newport and S. Magherafelt). These results are in agreement with other studies [36][37]. These findings support the assumption that there is a difference in the occurrence of some salmonella types at young ages versus older ages [38][39][40].…”

“…Salmonellosis, mainly caused by Salmonella, is one of the most frequent infectious foodborne diseases around the world. Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis (SE) is one of the pathogenic bacteria, which causes signi cant economic losses on poultry production and puts severe threat on human health [1][2][3] through contaminated poultry and egg [4][5][6]{Hohmann, 2001 #37;L, 2009 #41;Currie, 2005 #43}. It is estimated that Salmonella enteritidis causes 1.3 million cases of gastroenteritis, and more than 350 died each year in the United States [7].…”
