a modern endoscopic study of the stomach includes, as an indispensable component, the application of additional visualization technologies, such as magnifying e endoscopy and narrow-band imaging endoscopy. The use of these techniques makes it possible to effectively diagnose pre-cancerous conditions and changes in the gastric mucosa as well as detect gastric cancer at the early stages of its development. The conduction of a modern endoscopic investigation implies the adequate preparation of the patient and the creation of the favourable conditions for the examination, the adequate alignment of the endoscopic equipment, the knowledge of the diagnostic algorithms by the attending physician and the necessary skills for their implementation.
