Sacrococcygeal Teratoma

Abstract: Sacrococcygeal teratoma is the most common congenital tumor of the fetus, consisting of all three germ cell layers. These layers are commonly large and vascular, causing the blood to be shunted to the tumor. This creates the vascular steal syndrome, resulting in fetal hydrops and cardiac failure. Large tumors may also cause polyhydramnios, resulting in premature labor.
