Mas o imaginário metamórfico não se reduz a formas animais, há ainda crenças em transmutações em plantas/árvores (Adogbo, 2000) e em elementos da natureza, como água e rios (Drewal, 2008). Ademais, as transformações corporais também entram nesta categoria, visto o imaginário amplamente complexo sobre o corpo (Leite, 2008) Apesar de o elemento mais comum nessas narrativas religiosas ser a teriantropia (capacidade de seres-humanos virarem animais), entende-se aqui, enquanto característica do inconsciente animista, a presença de outras várias formas de transformações, sendo elas: objetos, plantas e animais assumirem formas humanas; seres humanos assumirem outras formas, como animais, água, plantas, objetos etc.…”
