Abstract: Introduction: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is characterized by recurrent abdominal pain and change in the form and consistency of stool. Two subtypes of IBS are diarrhea-predominant IBS (IBS-D) and constipation-predominant IBS (IBS-C).
