S-Metolachlor Volatilization from Plants within a Flux Chamber

Abstract: S-metolachlor volatile loss at 3, 6, and 12 h after spray application of Dual Magnum herbicide to cotton and soybean plants was measured in laboratory flux chambers. Data generated in these flux chambers were used to compute volatilization flux estimates. The emission rate of S-metolachlor ranged from 64 to 178 μg m −2 h −1 for soybean and 83 to 169 μg m −2 h −1 for cotton during the first 3 h sampling period after application.
