Russian Far East interconnected power system emergency stability control

Abstract: Abstrad--Conventionalangle stability controls do not always meet the power consumers' requirements. There are spread interconnected power systems where application of generator tripping for stability improvement is accompanied by load tripping to counterbalance the effect of tripping the generators. This resume discusses a concept having potentialities for advanced stability control for such power systems. The concept is based on unconventional combining of centralized and decentralized control. That would be … Show more

“…The specialised processors of the simulator implement significantly more accurate mathematical models of the EPS elements, in particular, turbines and their control systems [10,11]. However, the adequacy of the turbines and their control system simulation depends on the reliability of modelling turbine characteristic, as well as MFTVC and SFTVC [12][13][14][15][16][17]. Using adequate mathematical models and valid values of the setting parameters ensures the similarity of the simulated and real turbine characteristics and transients associated with the operation of MFTVC and SFTVC.…”
