This research aims to specifically assess the institutional resilience of tourism villages against the Covid-19 pandemic in four different tourist village categories. This research is qualitative in nature. The data collection was carried out through interviews with the head of the tourist villages, who played a crucial role during Covid-19 pandemic. Content analysis is used as an analytical technique in this study. The results of the study show that each category of tourist village displays varying degrees of institutional resilience when dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. In this context, the key factors distinguishing institutional resilience in each typology of tourist villages are primarily influenced by leadership and management, innovation, tourist visitor scale, local government support, and the determination of the community as actors in the tourism business. The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic prompted different action plans, scenarios, and policies in each tourist village. Furthermore, the pandemic encouraged tourism villages to innovate continuously such as by developing new tour packages, creating new attractions, revising tourist visit targets, enhancing product marketing systems, and fostering collaborations. The support and innovation from local governments also played a significant contribution in shaping the resilience of tourist villages. In conclusion, the Covid-19 pandemic has provided valuable lessons for tourism villages. The lessons include recognizing their potential and weaknesses, mapping resources for dealing with future disasters, optimizing the use of reserve funds, exploring new business opportunities, and developing the necessary mitigation efforts. These results have practical implications for the development policies of each category of tourist villages in the post Covid-19 pandemic era.

This research is initial research that aims to provide direction for village assistance activities towards tourism villages within the framework of Sustainable Rural Tourism. Community development and empowerment form the basis of this activity. By prioritizing the wishes, hopes, and participation of the community, this research maps out the potential and impacts that can occur with the existence of a tourism village. From these potentials and impacts, researchers conducted a qualitative analysis by providing five alternative developments that could be carried out in assisting Sukowilangun Village to become a tourist village. Through one of the developmental approaches, a holistic approach, participatory learning, empowerment of management, action research, or synergy and network analysis, it is hoped that village servants or assistants towards sustainable tourism villages will have the direction of planning, implementing, and evaluating programs properly so that the concept of village development is within the framework of Sustainable Rural Tourism can be achieved. The results of this study have been applied to the early stages of community service, with a holistic approach, servants can map the main potential, namely culture. Culture is the main wealth and strength to be developed further in supporting natural and other potentials towards Tourism Villages.ABSTRAKKegiatan ini merupakan penelitian awal yang bertujuan memberikan arah bagi kegiatan pendampingan desa menuju desa wisata dalam kerangka Sustainable Rural Tourism. Pembangunan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat menjadi dasar kegiatan ini. Dengan mengutamakan keinginan, harapan dan partisipasi masyarakat, penelitian ini memetakan potensi dan dampak yang dapat terjadi dengan adanya desa wisata. Dari potensi dan dampak tersebut, peneliti melakukan analisi kualitatif dengan memberikan lima alternative pengembangan yang dapat dilakukan dalam mendampingi Desa Sukowilangun menuju Desa wisata. Melalui salah satu dari analisis pengembangan holistic approach, participatory learning, empowerment of management, action research, atau sinergy and network, diharapkan pengabdi atau pendamping desa menuju Desa Wisata berkelanjutan memiliki arah penetapan perencanaan, implementasi hingga evaluasi program dengan baik sehingga konsep pengembangan desa dalam kerangka Sustainable Rural Tourism dapat dicapai. Hasil penelitian ini telah diterapkan pada tahap awal pengabdian, dengan pendekatan holistic, pengabdi mampu memetakan potensi utama yaitu budaya. Budaya menjadi kekayaan dan kekuatan utama untuk dikembangkan lebih jauh dalam mendukung potensi alam dan lainnya menuju Desa Wisata.

The COVID19 pandemic has 'paused' urban development across the world on a variety of spatial, temporal, and social scales, to some extent. Some cities in a specific period, such as Wuhan in January-April 2020 and Shanghai in April-June 2022, were completely shut down in the context of strictest lockdown measures. The pandemic has pressed us to rethink the challenging development of healthy city particularly when confronting 'spatially constrained' urban environment.This special issue aims to collect empirical evidence of healthy city challenges and solutions, generated from five case studies of Asian cities in three large-size countries (Japan, China, and Indonesia). Five papers on this special issue contribute to understanding the impacts of urban environment on health risks, health intervention, and wellbeing on different spatial scales through using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods. The key focuses of these papers are on walkability (city scale), physical activity (park scale), community gardening (neighborhood scale), spatial intervention of COVID diffusion (destination site), and perception of health risks (neighborhood).The first paper by Zhou and Homma (2022) is entitled "estimating walk score and examining its association with safety factors of neighborhood environment in Kumamoto, Japan'. The major evidence produced from this urban study in Japan include the spatially heterogeneous correlations between walkability and safety factors (traffic accident and crime) across a city. It highlights the concern of protecting walkable environment from safety risks because safe and walkable neighborhoods together help achieve the demanding benefit to residents' public health and well-being. Another strength of this paper is extensive use of high-resolution spatial data for measuring accurate walkability at building level. This has addressed a kind of global inequality in urban studies caused by the varying level of urban data infrastructure development between countries and cities. This challenge should be concerned by policy makers of municipal and national governments.The second paper by Yuan, Zhang et al. ( 2022) is on "the impact of urban parks accessibility in cold regions on leisuretime physical activity levels of older adults in winter". This case study of Harbin city in Northeastern China explored the linkage between park accessibility and level of leisuretime physical activity in the context of cold urban environment. The analytical results exhibit that the vigorous level of physical activity within urban parks by the elderly group is significantly contributed by a shorter walking time
