in den !etzten Jahren hat das Problem der eerviealen Spondylose und der eervicalen Diseushernien im neurologisehen, neuroehirurgisehen und r6ntgenologisehen Sehrifttum einen breiten tlaum eingenommen. Sehmerzen im Sehulter-Armbereich fiihrte man auf eine Wurzelkompression in den Foramina intervertebralia der Halswirbelsgule zuriiek. Mit einer Reizung des sympathisehen Nervengeflechtes, das die A. vertebralis begleitet, ~arden vegetative Erseheinungen im oberen K6rperviertel erkliirt. SehlieBlieh zeigte es sich, dab im' Bereiche der Halswirbelsgule eine Kompression des Biiekenmarkes dnreh eine Bandseheibe oder dm'eh eine spondylotisehe Knoehenleiste stattfinden kormte.Diese versehiedenen Manifestationsformen, die ihre gemeinsame Ursache in VerSnderungen der Hatswirbelsiiule haben, k6nnen sieh ganz versehiedenartig kombinieren. Je naeh dem Oberwiegen vegetativer, radieul~irer oder medulliirer Erseheinungen wird der Patient den Internisten, den Otologen, den Neurologen oder den Neuroehirurgen aufsuehen. Jeder Spezialist wird also eine bestinunte Selektion von Patienten sehen und behandeln. Zwar f/ihren sie alle die Symptome iitiologiseh auf Ver~inderungen der Halswirbels~iule zuriiek, aber sehon hier zeigen sieh Untersehiede in der Benennung, indem der Neuroehirurg die Diagnose einer eerviealen Diseushernie h~iufiger stellt als die einer Spondylose, wiihrend z.B. der l~heumatologe eher von einer Spondylose oder Osteoehondrose spreehen wird. Neben der Selektion des Materials, die aus der Spezialit~it des Untersuehers sieh ergibt, spielt bei der Beurteilung aueh die faehteehniseh begrfindete und individuell gefiirbte Einstellung des Einzelnen eine Rolle. Dadureh kommt es in der Darstetlung dieses Problems in der Literatur zu Die vorliegende Arbeit ist 1955 abgesehlossen worden. Sp~iter erschienene Literatur tiber das Tbema wurde nieht mehr bertieksiehtigt.
