“…Human RPS27 is required for NF-κB phosphorylation and nuclear translocation [243]. RPS27 also regulates NF-κB signaling in shrimp [244]. Human RPS3A stimulates NF-κB nuclear translocation synergistically with hepatitis B virus X protein (HBx) [245].…”

“…These two sequences are not coding regions in the genome of SARS-CoV-2, as they are not in the coding reading frame of S gene. However, in the light of this significant evidence [ 24 ] and of the increasing importance of small open-reading frame (sORF)-encoded peptides (SEPs) [ 27 , 28 , 29 , 30 ], recurrent especially in microorganisms [ 31 , 32 , 33 ], we investigated whether the translation of these highly conserved base-pairing regions could give compounds with antiviral activity. We found that the two tripeptides are able to inhibit betacoronavirus entry mechanism by binding the RBD of SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein, as suggested by molecular docking and validated by biochemical studies.…”

“…The healthy shrimp M. japonicus (8–10 g) were purchased from a shrimp farm near Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. A shrimp culture system in the laboratory was used to cultivate the shrimp ( 40 ). For tissue distribution analysis, different organs, including the heart, hepatopancreas, gill, intestines, and stomach, were dissected from shrimp for protein and total RNA extraction.…”
