Round-Robin Relaying With Diversity in Amplify-and-Forward Multisource Cooperative Communications

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, a round-robin based relay protocol dubbed round-robin relaying with source selection protocol (R3SSP) is proposed to achieve full cooperative diversity in multisource cooperative communication networks. In R3SSP, all the sources transmit their individual information in turn. The relays then forward the messages of some specific sources in a fixed order according to the limited feedback information. Compared with traditional relay selection based protocols, R3SSP is based on round-robin … Show more

“…6(b) as an example again. When there are only 90% OMDs conducting cooperative communication (CC) with MMD r 1 in group a, the utility difference between r 1 and r 2 is larger than that of all nodes using cooperative communications, that can be explained by the changing values of k ω τ ij in (22).…”

“…In this TRA, the relays are dedicated to assist one data block in each relay time slot and brings no benefits for the other data blocks. Differently, we exploit the TRA as in [14]- [17] where all the relays are shared by all the sources. To achieve this effect, the relays do not participate in assisting the signal transmission until all the direct transmissions have been finished.…”

“…Hence, reduction of the overhead caused by the required CSI exchanges is crucial. Many approaches to reduce both the overhead in the CSI exchanges and the effect of the outdated CSI have been considered and analyzed by comparing the trade-offs between the performance and the CSI overhead (or the quality of CSI) [5]- [8].…”
