Rotating 5D black holes: Interactions and deformations near extremality

Abstract: We study a two-dimensional theory of gravity coupled to matter that is relevant to describe holographic properties of black holes with two equal angular momenta in five dimensions (with or without cosmological constant). We focus on the near-horizon geometry of the near-extremal black hole, where the effective theory reduces to Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT) gravity coupled to a massive scalar field. We compute the corrections to correlation functions due to cubic interactions present in this theory. A novel feature i… Show more

“…The second step is to characterize the cubic interactions among these operators and the JT sector, and quantify the leading correction of their two-point functions due to these interactions. This follows closely the analysis in [5], and is also mentioned in [2,6].…”

“…The first entry in the holographic analysis we will decode are the linear fluctuations around the AdS 2 background, and we will identify the degrees of freedom. Following similar steps as in [5,41], we define Φ = Φ 0 + Y ,…”

“…The low-energy dynamics of rotating, near-extremal black holes is also described in terms of JT gravity now coupled to extra matter fields. These extra degrees of freedom describe the deformation or "squashing" of the near-horizon geometry away from extremality[27][28][29].3 Similar successes were later found to hold in the CGHS model[50,51], JT de Sitter gravity[52,53],and higher-dimensional scenarios[54,55]. See also[56] which finds the entanglement entropy characterizing communication between AdS2 braneworld black holes follows a unitary Page curve.…”

“…It is worth pointing out the investigations of pole skipping in Kerr-AdS in [32]. The JT model arising in the near horizon region of near extremal Kerr in 4 and 5 dimensions were investigated in [33] and later in [34,35] and were found to have many interesting non-universal features. The Lyapunov index was also computed in 3 dimensional flat geometries with a cosmological horizon both by using shock waves and the dual Galilean CFT and was found to be the temperature associated with the horizon [36].…”
