Abstract:The platinum(IV) complex, [CpPt(CH3)2(COCH3)], was examimed by IR spectroscopy in the gas phase and found to exist as an equilibrium mixture of two rotational conformers. The equilibrium was examined as a function of temperature by using gas phase IR and the energy difference between the rotamers was determined. Molecular modelling studies were also carried out and are consistent with a model in which the conformers correspond to different rotational positions of the acetyl group.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
