Abstract:The combination of visible light, a renewable and green energy source, and rose bengal, a non‐toxic organic dye as a photoredox catalyst, is an easy and efficient method for synthesizing 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1H)‐ones/thiones in EtOH at ambient temperature in very short reaction time.
