“…The average crystallite size calculated with Scherer equation was found as between 2 and 15 nm. 85 3.7 X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is a non-destructive technique to investigate chemical and electronic structure of materials, and to characterize surface elemental composition. An important advantage of XPS is its ability to identify binding energies of the chemical shis of elements, e.g., the shis associated with the oxidation state of cerium in nanoceria.…”

“…A significant part of the surface catalytic reaction and/or chemoselectivity of CeO 2 NMs is determined by their morphology, which presents different spatial dimensions, morphologies, OV concentrations, crystallinities, and specific surface areas . At present, the common synthesis of CeO 2 NMs mainly includes traditional synthesis methods (e.g., hydrothermal methods, , precipitation, ,,, thermal decomposition, spray pyrolysis, sol–gel methods, , and green synthesis , ). Green synthesis is a synthesis method mediated by plant extracts (e.g., Jatropha curcas extract and Rhus punjabensis).…”
