Rollover Stability Dynamic Analysis of Passenger Vehicle in Moving Conditions

Abstract: Rollover accidents of passenger vehicle in the process of moving will cause danger to human life and property. Therefore, the driver needs to actively control the speed of the vehicle to avoid dangerous problems. During a steady turn, a vehicle moving at a speed of over 35 km/h will overturn, similar to when a vehicle changes lanes at a speed of over 110 km/h. The above results are evaluated based on the load transfer ratio (LTR) and the difference of the roll angle of the suspended and unsuspended mass. In th… Show more

“…Besides, the dynamic model of the vehicle is built on the basis of the roll model [20] and the independent oscillation model on an axis in the horizontal plane passing through the wheel center, unaffected by the excitation of the road surface. Sprung mass mS is the mass part placed on the suspension system, including the tank without liquid and the chassis.…”

“…The structure of the chassis needs to be properly calculated to help optimize the mass distribution of passengers and cargo [11]. Vehicle dimensions, such as, track width, the height of the center of gravity, etc., play an essential role in deciding when to experience the phenomenon of rolling over [12]. Even the effect of the kingpin angle can be considered if a more accurate assessment of rollover models is desired [13].…”

“…According to the article's content [11], these graphs described the dependence between maximum roll angle, the distance from the CG to the RA (roll axis), velocity, and minimum vertical force. The idea of using a limited roll angle to evaluate the rollover phenomenon was also mentioned in [12] by Nguyen et al There were many methods used to estimate and predict the vehicle roll angle, such as neural estimation in the MPC (model predictive control) system [13], an intelligent algorithm [14], a neural network [15], etc.…”
