Abstract: Muscular dystrophies (MDs) are a group of diseases that cause muscular and neurological disorders in human patients. They are associated with a multi-component complex called the Dystrophin Glycoprotein Complex (DGC). The DGC connects the extracellular matrix to the cytoskeleton and is well-conserved in animals.
