Role of theg9/2neutron orbital in the structure ofZn

Abstract: Measurements of p-ray singles and pp-coincidence spectra, p-ray angular distributions, and Doppler shift attenuation have been made, following the reaction Cu( He,pa) Zn at 30 MeV. The level scheme has been con6rmed up to 5773 keV. The spins and parities of the three states at 3227.6, 3785.7, and 4938.0 keV, hitherto uncertain or unknown, are found to be 17/2+, 17/2+, and 21/2+, respectively. The mean lives for these states, for which there is no information available in the literature, have been estimated, an… Show more

“…This work confirms almost all the states reported in earlier experiment [6], which had used « induced reactions to populate the nucleus. In our study, a total of 21 previously unreported states structure of Zn in the framework of cranking model with the Woods-Saxon potential, the results of which will be published shortly.…”

“…This data establishes transitions at 1074, 1155, 1227, and 1349 keV which form the upper part of the ¾ band structure. The -ray at 1072 keV was observed previously[6] but the doublet partner 1074 keV was not resolved due to poor resolution of the detectors used. The measured DCO ratios for the 835, 988, 1074, 1155, 1173, 1227, 1349 and 1708 keV transitions are consistent with stretched E2 transitions.…”
