“…Although the reason is not clear, the greater difficulty of manipulating the colonoscope in the right colon may result in incorrect targeting of the biopsy forceps and contribute to the incomplete removal by CFP. Because incomplete polyp resection was related to 10-27 % of interval colorectal cancers [18,19], complete removal of polyps is an [11,[20][21][22]. The recurrence rate and safety of these other resection techniques for diminutive polyps remain to be elucidated.…”

“…Several reports on the usefulness of jumbo forceps polypectomy without electrocautery (jumbo CFP) have recently been published [20][21][22]. Jumbo forceps, which are larger than standard forceps, are an effective instrument for the treatment of diminutive polyps [20,22].…”

“…A study by Park et al [7] showed that removal of polyps 1–3 mm in size by cold forceps had the same outcome as those removed by cold-snare resection, but that cold-forceps polypectomy is likely to be insufficient for larger polyps. On the other hand, cold-snare techniques reduce the risk of incomplete diminutive polyp removal by as much as 60%, without increasing the total procedure time [8]. Snare polypectomy also has the advantage of being able to remove the polyp as a whole, rather than in the piecemeal fashion associated with cold biopsy, making it easier for the pathologist to ascertain complete histological removal.…”

“…Cold polypectomy is widely spreading as an endoscopic treatment of small colorectal polyps, because of its safety, efficacy and convenience . However, long‐term outcomes of cold polypectomy have not been clarified.…”
