Key Points
During Covid‐19 pandemic, elective interventions have been postponed at many medical centers in the United States. This might have had significant impact on interventional cardiology training.
A significant proportion of interventional cardiology fellows think that by the end of their training they may not reach the minimum procedural requirements; and nearly half believe that the COVID‐19 pandemic will affect their interventional skills.
There is need to review current interventional cardiology program requirements and strategic solutions to supplement gaps in education and experience related to reduced interventions.
