“…Furthermore, to allow comparison of these catalytic activities on an equal footing, and also to compare them with data from the literature, the apparent rate constants were normalized to the surface area of silver employed per unit volume of dispersion (areal rate constant), and the results are 7.61, 4.63, 0.56 L m -2 s -1 for RGO-Ag NP hybrids prepared with Arg, PM and His, respectively, whereas a value of 3.68×10 -3 s -1 was obtained with stand-alone, citrate-capped Ag NPs (for a comparison with previously reported values measured for the same reaction using other Ag NPbased catalysts, see Table S2). To the best of our knowledge, the present Arg-and PMderived RGO-Ag NP hybrids exhibit the highest catalytic activities that have ever been documented for Ag NPs in this reaction (areal rate constants ~3-5 times higher than the previous largest values [70][71][72][73][74][75][76][77][78].). By contrast, the performance of the His-derived hybrids is comparable (slightly lower) to that of the standard, citrate-capped Ag NPs.…”

“…The In aqueous solutions, nitrocompounds give their characteristic absorption maximum at around 400 nm corresponds to their phenolate ions. As the reaction proceeds, a new band appears at around 290 nm characteristic of the corresponding aminophenol [64]. The greenish yellow color of the dye diminishes on the incorporation of CuNPs and becomes colorless.…”

“…Such plasmonic nanoparticles, especially silver, are widely used in catalysis [4,5], biological and chemical sensors [6-8], and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy [9-11]. It has been recognized that the optical spectral signatures of plasmonic nanoparticles are primarily dependent on their shapes [12-14].…”
