Although pesticides are widely used for preventing foods from pests, there are some legal regulations about pesticide residues in foods because of their negative impact on human health. Organochlorine pesticide residues in pasteurized and UHT milk samples were determined by QuEChERS sample preparation method followed by GC/MS. Despite they are prohibited, varying levels of heptachlor (up to 65.42 μg/kg), heptachlor epoxide (up to 2.62 μg/kg), aldrin (up to 3.86 μg/kg), 4,41‐DDE (up to 4.28 μg/kg), dieldrin (up to 4.85 μg/kg), 2,41‐DDT (up to 7.32 μg/kg), and β‐endosulfan (up to 4.74 μg/kg) were detected. The incidence of pesticide residues in the samples was between 2.22% and 97.78%. It was determined that total pesticide residue amounts ranged between 27.04 and 74.69 μg/kg, and the majority of the total pesticide residue amounts belonged to heptachlor. In addition, it was determined that total pesticide residue amounts in UHT milk samples were higher than pasteurized milk samples. Practical applicationsDue to the fact that pesticides are widely used in order to eliminate pests, consumption of pesticides increases. This situation has led to the emergence of many important problems in terms of environmental pollution and human health such as cancer, birth abnormalities, and nervous system diseases. Therefore, residual analysis, monitoring, and risk assessment of food are gaining importance every day. Although the use of some pesticides is prohibited, the present study shows that these pesticides could be detected in both pasteurized and UHT milk samples. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the control of pesticides.

Pesticide creation is related to sustainable agricultural development and ecological safety, and molecular docking technology can effectively help pesticide innovation. This paper introduces the basic theory of molecular docking, pesticide databases, and docking software. It also summarizes the applications of molecular docking in the field of pesticides, including virtual screening of lead compounds, detection of pesticides and their metabolites in the environment, reverse screening of pesticide targets, and the study of resistance mechanisms. Finally, the problems of molecular docking technology in the process of pesticide creation are discussed, and the prospects of molecular docking technology in the future application of new pesticide development are foreseen.This article is protected by copyright. The widespread use of pesticides to control agricultural pests is a hot topic on the public scene of environmental health. Selective pest control for minimum environmental impact is a major goal of the environmental toxicology field, notably to avoid unintended poisoning in different organisms. Anticoagulant rodenticides cause abnormal blood coagulation process; they have been widely used to control rodents, allowing inadvertent primary and secondary exposure in domestic animals and non-target predatory wildlife species through direct ingestion of rodenticide-containing bait or by consumption of poisoned prey. To report toxic effect, the most common approach is the measurement of liver or plasma residues of anticoagulant rodenticides in dead or intoxicated animals showing clinical symptoms. However, one major challenge is that literature currently lacks a hepatic or plasma concentration threshold value for the differentiation of exposure from toxicity. Regarding the variation in pharmacology properties of anticoagulant rodenticides inter- and intra-species, the dose-response relationship must be defined for each species to prejudge the relative risk of poisoning. Beyond that, biomarkers are a key solution widely used for ecological risk assessment of contaminants. Since anticoagulant rodenticides (AR) have toxic effects at the biochemical level, biomarkers can serve as indicators of toxic exposure. In this sense, toxicological knowledge of anticoagulant rodenticides within organisms is an important tool for defining sensitive, specific, and suitable biomarkers. In this review, we provide an overview of the toxicodynamic and toxicokinetic parameters of anticoagulant rodenticides in different animal species. We examine different types of biomarkers used to characterize and differentiate the exposure and toxic effects of anticoagulant rodenticide, showing the strengths and weaknesses of the assays. Finally, we describe possible new biomarkers and highlight their capabilities.
