Role of Jumpstart Nutrition®, a Dietary Supplement, to Ameliorate Calcium-to-Phosphorus Ratio and Parathyroid Hormone of Patients with Osteoarthritis

Abstract: The aim of this study was to use Jumpstart Nutrition® bone supplementing combination with vitamin-K2 and coenzyme-Q10 characterized by an innovative delivery system that improves bioavailability of calcium-to-phosphorus ratio (CPR) and parathyroid hormone (PTH) in the management of osteoarthritis (OA). This eight-week registry included 108 patients treated for symptomatic OA confirmed with radiological images. On top of that, 63 patients used Jumpstart Nutrition® supplement, mainly prepared with calcium, phosp… Show more

“…There is no cure; however, analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicines, such as corticosteroids and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are available [31][32][33]. Several studies have shown that CoQ10 slows OA progression [17,18,22]. Although anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of CoQ10 have been reported [34][35][36][37][38], little is known about the effects of micellized-…”

“…One clinical study found that OA patients exhibited low levels of CoQ10 and that the extent of oxidative stress was negatively correlated with the CoQ10 level [17]. Supplementation with a combination of vitamin-K 2 and CoQ10 improved pain, stiffness, and the daily performance of OA patients [18]. Several studies have reported therapeutic effects of CoQ10 in patients with inflammatory disorders [19][20][21].…”

“…Seventy-two cohorts (62.5% of females) have been assigned to the experimental group (TPT) out of the remaining 144 patients with KOA who have significant pain syndromes, discomfort, obesity (both general and central), cartilage damage, subchondral bone changes, osteophyte formation, muscle weakness, oxidative stress, and inflammation of the synovium tissue as evidenced by elevated levels of biomarkers: interleukin-10 (IL-10), Tumours necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), malondialdehyde (MDA), creatine kinasemuscle (CK-MM), aldolase-A, and 4hydroxyproline levels, and radiological images, and the other 72 subjects (56.9% of females) have been assigned to the control group treated with nutraceutical supplements (NS group). Following the prior methodology, each individual completed a baseline questionnaire for demographic information [19][20].…”

“…Observation of the patient's perceived symptoms of pain intensity in the last 24 hrs. for pain, stiffness, and functional disability of the individual patient, the patient's opinion about their knee and associated problems under VAS, WOMAC, KOOS, and LEFS, and anthropometric parameters (BMI, WC, HC, WHpR, and WHtR) as per previous study [15][16][17][18][19] for experimental and control groups at 0-week and 12-week. The significance of all the parameters of the COM and AP at 12 weeks was evaluated with the help of ROC curve analysis, metaanalysis, and radar chart and graphically depicted.…”
