This current study involves the novel synthesis of Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) decorated biguanidine modified mesoporous silica KIT-5 following post-functionalization approach. The tiny Au NPs were being stabilized over the in situ prepared biguanidine ligand. The high surface area material was characterized using analytical techniques like Fourier Transformed infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, N2-adsorption–desorption isotherm, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray Diffraction study (XRD). Our material was found to be an efficient catalyst in the reductive degradation of harmful water contaminating organic dyes like Methylene blue (MB), Methyl Orange (MO) and Rhodamin B (RhB) in presence of NaBH4 at room temperature. The whole procedure was followed up with the help of time dependant UV–Vis spectroscopy. All the reactions followed pseudo-unimolecular kinetics and corresponding rate constant were determined. The reduction rate becomes high in presence of higher load of catalysts.

This world is marvelous place full of mystifying places and spectacular experiences only waiting for travel around and exploration. Ecotourism builds cultural and environmental awareness and recognition of such places. Therefore, the current research has investigated the relationship between historical places, natural environment, cultural values, ecotourists satisfaction, and ecotourism performance. Ecotourists satisfaction has direct impact on ecotourism performance. According to the current research, historical places, natural environment, and cultural values particularly in Ranong, a province of Thailand, play significant role for the ecotourist satisfaction and attraction. Hence a survey was conducted to obtain primary data to know ecotourists’ satisfaction level and how it impacts on ecotourism performance. In the survey 850 ecotourists were considered as the respondents of the current research. Hence, after collection of primary data from the respondents, a statistical software name Partial Least Square (PLS) was used to analyze the data for the achievement of end results of the current research. Moreover, the current research helps concerned authorities of Ranong that how they can utilize and earn more profit from ecotourism and make their natural areas recipient of well-being of their people.

The water–development nexus is essential for the advancement and progress of cities in the face of problems such as climate change, water security and increasing environmental stress in the agricultural sector. Aiming for a circular economy and, at the same time, improving the resilience of water supply alternatives and achieving a goal of zero waste, this work presents a technical–economic study of a novel continuous ultrafiltration (c-UF) system with self-cleaning capacity coupled to an ozonation process, for the treatment of urban WWTP effluent. The removal efficiencies achieved were analysed both through macroscopic parameters (suspended solids, turbidity) and for the most frequently occurring contaminants of emerging concern (CECs). Consequently, an effluent suitable for irrigation was obtained, with a total recovery factor of 97.92%, a concentration of suspended solids (SS) below 1 mg L−1, 0.06 NTU turbidity and toxicity free, complying with the new European Regulation on Water Reuse (EU 2020/741). A comparative analysis of the proposed process with regard to conventional tertiary treatment revealed that the proposed process was 39.1% more economic, with a cost of 0.0325 € m−3. This alternative treatment will be of great interest because of its favourable technical–economic characteristics, being postulated as a basic process for implementation in modern water reuse plants.
