Role of Calcium in Vomiting

Abstract: Cisplatin-like chemotherapeutics cause vomiting via calcium (Ca 2+)-dependent release of multiple neurotransmitters/mediators (dopamine, serotonin, substance P, prostaglandins and leukotrienes) from the gastrointestinal enterochromaffin cells and/or the brainstem.
