Abstract: Chronic alcohol consumption is characterized by disturbances of neuroplasticity. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) may mechanistically participate in this process. Here we aimed to review actual experimental and clinical data related to BDNF involvement in neuroplasticity in the context of alcohol dependence.
