Abstract:The aim of this review is to summarise the current knowledge on the role of adipokines on the development and progression of MAFLD. Discussion: diagnostic criteria for metabolic-associated liver disease (MAFLD) versus non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are presented.
