Abstract:While photopatterning is in widespread use for patterning inorganic semiconductors, patterning of widely-used gold-thiol organic self-assembled monolayers is typically done with contact methods. Through common atomic force microscope techniques and quantification of the energy impinging on the target surface, the energy required for UV-photooxidation of Au-Thiol SAMs can be determined. This quantification allows for the precise control of features using simple shadow masking from electron microscopy grids or o… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
