Robust critical current density in applied magnetic fields in 5 μm thick, SmBa2Cu3O7− based superconducting wires

Abstract: a b s t r a c tWe report the magnetic field and temperature dependence of the critical current density {J c (H) and J c (T)} flowing in a 5 lm thick sample of SmBa 2 Cu 3 O 7Àd (SmBCO) film. The film is a coated conductor (CC) deposited on an IBAD-MgO textured metallic template. For a range of intermediate fields, we find J c aH Àa with values of a between 0.44 and 0.49.
