Synchronization of Coupled Boolean Networks With Different Update Scheme

In this paper, the synchronization of coupled Boolean networks with asynchronous update scheme is investigated. First, the asynchronous Boolean dynamics is transformed into a linear expression with the semi-tensor product technique. Then, the synchronization cycle is proposed to establish the synchronization conditions of asynchronous Boolean networks. Furthermore, an algorithm is given, which can be used to quickly check whether there exists the synchronization cycle in the coefficient matrix of the Boolean function. Finally, an example is provided to verify the efficiency of the theoretical analysis. INDEX TERMS Asynchronous update scheme, Boolean network, synchronization, semi-tensor product.

In the past few decades, how to reduce the computational complexity of dealing with kvalued logical networks (LNs) has become a heated research topic. This paper firstly presents a brief survey on the recent efforts of dealing with large-scale LNs, including approximation of LNs, network aggregation approach, and logical matrix factorization technique. Then, by using the network aggregation approach, the stability of large-scale network pairing problem is studied. The network aggregation approach is also used to study probabilistic logical networks (PLNs). Finally, an illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

This paper investigates the global stabilization problem of k-valued logical control networks (KVLCNs) via event-triggered control (ETC), where the control inputs only work at several certain individual states. Compared with traditional state feedback control, the designed ETC approach not only shortens the transient period of logical networks but also decreases the number of controller executions. The content of this paper is divided into two parts. In the first part, a necessary and sufficient criterion is derived for the event-triggered stabilization of KVLCNs, and a construction procedure is developed to design all timeoptimal event-triggered stabilizers. In the second part, the switching-cost-optimal event-triggered stabilizer is designed to minimize the number of controller executions. A labeled digraph is obtained based on the dynamic of the overall system. Utilizing this digraph, we formulate a universal and unified procedure called the minimal spanning in-tree algorithm to minimize the triggering event set. Furthermore, we illustrate the effectiveness of obtained results through several numerical examples.
