Robust containment of uncertain linear multi‐agent systems under adaptive protocols

Abstract: Summary In this paper, robust containment problem is investigated for a class of multi‐leader multi‐agent linear systems in the presence of time‐varying uncertainties. To achieve containment, a new kind of adaptive containment protocols are proposed for the multi‐agent systems. Specifically, the designed protocols consist of a continuous linear term and a discontinuous term. The linear term of the designed protocol is employed to achieve containment while the discontinuous term is utilized to eliminate the eff… Show more

“…Until now, it has been applied in many industry and military fields such as distributed robotic networks, attitude of astrovehicle alignment, multivehicle systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, and so on. In view of its remarkable application prospect, numerous intelligent control strategies have been proposed such as tracking control, 1‐3 consensus control, 4,5 containment control, 6‐8 and so on 9 . Among these control approaches, the containment control is regarded as a popular method because it is more general and can be converted into tracking control by setting only one leader.…”

“…Thus, it is full of significant to take packet losses into account when considering the containment of MASs. Notice that the aforementioned literature 1‐8 were obtained in the framework of the hypothesis that the transmission signals are successfully transmitted all the time. So far, although stability of networked control systems subject to packet losses has drawn some attention, 18,53‐56 the containment problem for T‐S fuzzy sampled‐data MASs with packet losses has received little attention, which facilitates our current work.…”

“…For systems with multiple targets, the agents are required to track the trajectories generated by targets with certain formation. By studying the zero eigenvector of the multi‐leader multi‐follower Laplacian matrix, the containment controller/formation‐containment controller was developed to make the followers track certain fixed convex hull of the leaders with formation [6–10].…”
