“…It supports the findings of Zargar et al [3] showing comparable perioperative complications and open conversions of RAPN in patients with and without a history of PAS in their similar sized, but single-centre study. This is also in agreement with assessments of other robotic procedures supporting the relative safety of robotic surgery in patients with a history of PAS.…”

“…The few familial and twin studies suggest a (moderate) genetic background for this disease to an extent similar to other chronic diseases such as hypertension or diabetes mellitus type II [2,3]. However, BPH/LUTS is a complex disorder and it is very unlikely that the pathogenesis can be reduced to a single gene or gene defect.…”

“…The impact of PAS on laparoscopic renal surgery and robotassisted prostatectomy has been studied by several groups [9][10][11][12][13][14]. Outcomes of RAPN after PAS have been previously reported in a few single-institution studies [3,15]. In the present study, we use a large multicentre database to evaluate perioperative outcomes of RAPN in patients who had had major PAS.…”

“…Robot-assisted PN (RAPN) is a minimally invasive option for PN [2]. Prior abdominal surgery (PAS) can increase the challenges of minimally invasive surgery due to the formation of intraperitoneal adhesions [3]. Up to 90% of patients who have undergone open abdominal surgery have been reported to develop peritoneal adhesions [4].…”

“…[12][13][14][15] All-encompassing indices such as CCI provide an advantage of risk stratification, but may not be the best predictor of outcomes; comorbidity profiles often differ based on population and disease state of interest, which can lower the predictive power of these indices. 16,17 Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify specific comorbid conditions within the CCI that predict perioperative complications after robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) at a high-volume tertiary care center.…”
