Road to inclusion - A First Person Story

Abstract

Mohammed Asif Iqbal, Manager/ Principal consultant, Pwc India Asif lost total eye sight at the age of 16 years old and is first blind commerce graduate from St. Xavier's college, Calcutta. He received my primary, secondary and partial college education from USA. Asif has been instrumental in creating reservation quota for disabled across IIMs, IITs and all government Universities in india. He is also the first blind MBA(HR) from symbiosis (SCMHRD, Pune). Asif if the proud recipeient of National award, State role model award, United nation &Icongo award, NIVH excellence award, rotary community change champion award, etc. He is currently serving as President, Welfare Society of the Blind , and as member of Board of National NHRDN Kolkata chapter. He is also member of High level advisory committee of universal access set up by Department of IT & electronics, government of India. Asif has also designed & implemented social inclusion strategy for aadhar enrolllment under leadership and guidance of Nandan Nilekan and RS Sharma.
