“…NompC is also expressed and essential for the function of two other non-auditory mechanoreceptor types-bristle and campaniform-and when genetically knocked out results in a decrease of mechanotransduction (Kernan et al, 1994;Liang et al, 2010). However, transient knockdown of mechanotransduction channel candidates in cockroach, using RNAi, resulted in reduction of the bristle receptor response only for Nanchung and Inactive but not for NompC (Hennenfent et al, 2020).
